Meet Katrin

As a resident of Greenwood Village for 14 years, my husband Christian Mezger, CFO and COO of ORBCOMM Corp, and our four children have experienced firsthand the high quality of life Greenwood Village has to offer.
When we moved to Greenwood Village, our oldest son, Roman, started as a freshman at Cherry Creek High School, our second son, Simon, got enrolled into 6th grade at Campus Middle School, our third son, Daniel, attended first grade at Belleview Elementary School, and our daughter, Sophia, attended Preschool. Between four kids, four schools, and many activities, we got to know the area and people of Greenwood Village within a short time.
After all those years, our firstborn son, Roman, 28, lives with his wife, Brianna, in Lexington, Kentucky, and runs their own horse training and breeding business. Our second-oldest son, Simon, 26, is a senior analyst with CBRE in Phoenix. Our son Daniel, 20, is a junior studying Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Finance at the University of Denver. Finally, our daughter Sophia, 17, is a senior at Cherry Creek High School and has ambitions to enter the medical field.
As soon as our busy family schedule opened up, I traded my occasional volunteer roles into permanent volunteer positions - Treasurer at Campus Middle School PTO and Director on the Board of Directors of the Homeowner Association of Coral Place. Currently, I serve as commissioner at the Greenwood Village Planning and Zoning Commission, already taking part in shaping our village’s future.
My husband and I grew up close to Munich, Germany. My upbringing in a family-owned construction business led me to complete a banking apprenticeship before graduating from the Architecture School at the Technical University of Munich with a master’s degree equivalent. In March 2000, my husband’s job took us to Houston, Texas, and our American journey began. About three years later, we moved to Menlo Park in California, where we lived for eight years before moving to Greenwood Village, which we declared to be our permanent home and have manifested this important step in our lives by building a new home in Greenwood Village.
Our own project has led to a greater involvement with our city and I got appointed to Greenwood Village’s Planning and Zoning Commission in February 2023, which allows me to combine my skill set and desire to lead the direction Greenwood Village is taking. As I naturally care about my community, I am ready to take my city involvement to the next level to serve our residents in the capacity of City Council member.
